Mullen Mania: Our Little One Year Old

November was a big month for our little guy! He turned one! Where did the time go????
Before we get to his birthday, here are some other things that happened in November.

Landon got better at getting into things like cabinets,

closets

and although I don't have a picture, he broke a coke can and spewed coke ALLLLLL over the kitchen! He crawled through it with white canvas shoes, which aren't so white anymore.

The day after the soda incident, I left the pantry open for a matter of seconds, and when I turned around he had dumped all of the rolled oats on the floor! Little stinker!

Landon got to try his very first sucker! He pretty much devoured it! It was gone in no time!!!

Landon also started standing up in his crib like a big boy, so we had to move the mattress down to the lowest level.


It's so weird how yellowy his walls look! They are very green.


The bed skirt doesn't quite work now...so we just tuck it under!

I love this little guy's cute personality. He's such a little character!

Landon LOVES LOVES LOVES bath time! He likes to splash around, play with his bath toys and drink the water. Silly boy.
Please excuse the crappy pictures. The bathroom lighting stinks.

He also loves to throw his toys out of the bathtub. It drives me nuts.

Our sweet friends let us borrow their musical table and Landon loves it! He also likes to use it as a walker and push it down the hallway. Silly boy.

This was a big month for out little guy because he turned 1 year old! We can't believe how fast the past year went by! In the morning, we went into his room to with him a happy birthday (not that he cared:)

While he took his morning nap, I (sorta) quickly made his 1 onesie. We were a little late to his birthday lunch, because I needed to finish it! For lunch, we met up with some friends at the mall for Chick-fil-a and playing in the playplace.

His first 1st birthday present! Thanks Melanie and Jackson!

Playing at the play place is oh so fun to do! Especially when you're not being trampled by older kids!

Landon loves to climb these stairs, but usually blocks the line or gets trampled on, because he can't go down the slide without some help.

That evening after Chris came home, we took Landon to an indoor play area for about an hour. We didn't know if we would be too young to enjoy it, but he had a great time! It helped that the place was pretty much empty too.

Landon loved eating/licking these balls. So, so, so gross on so many levels!

So rare to get a kiss!


In the first picture you can see a ball coming towards Landon. Chris kicked it to Landon, not knowing his own strength. It slammed Landon in the head and he was totally stunned and shocked, but he didn't cry. He got a nice pink spot on his forehead though!

After we left, we grabbed some Panera and went home because it was getting late and we wanted him to open some presents and have cake. We had both sets of grandparents on Facetime, so that they could watch him open his first 1st birthday present.

First bite!

He kept taking off the green frosting and then shaking his hands and fingers to try and get it off!


He always has the furrowed brow.

In the very end, he decided it was good!

It must have been too good, because that night he cried on and off for a lot of the night. Poor kid was screaming for awhile, and we guess that his first time eating sugary stuff did his stomach in.

After cake, he opened a couple more presents. He did a pretty good job of opening them too!

A few days later we had Landon's first birthday party. We used the book The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle as the theme.

You can't tell from this picture, but I made 2 picture banners. Each one has picture of each month 0 to 12 and one of them has fun pictures and the other has a teddy bear picture.

Cupcakes and Landon's cake (totally egg free!)

I found some tags online that listed what the caterpillar ate each day in the book, so that's what we had to eat (plus some other stuff) at the party.
