Run, Forrest, Run

A very special part of Patriot's Day is the Boston Marathon!!!! One of the most inspirational things I've ever watched, and I'm definitely not a runner. Last year we saw Team Hoyt run (if you don't know who they are, then you better go to youtube and find out!).

Unfortunately with a little one and other plans, our time at the race was very short, but we had a blast hanging out with 10 or so families from church. We parked our behinds around mile 19 of the race.

We got there in time to see the end of the wheelchair competitors and to see the front runners. The wheelchair competitors are so amazing, strong, and very inspiring in their determination to overcome a huge obstacle.

The front runners are so freakishly fast! 19 miles in an hour and a half? What the? How is that possible?

We had so much fun with several other families from church, but we were all bummed when we missed 2 of our friends who were running. Even with 20 or so pairs of eyes looking, it was hard to find them in the crowd of runners. Luckily some church friends sitting in another location were able to spot them.

Don't know who this guy is, but he's was excited when a huge group of Mormons started cheering for him!
